WEST LAFAYETTE — The Ohio Northern women's golf team is in second place after the first day of the 2025 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Friday.

The Basics

  • Ohio Northern is second of nine teams with a 52-over par 322-162--484
  • Mount Union is in first place with a 320-161--481, Otterbein is third at 338-162--500 and Heidelberg is fourth with a 337-172--509.
  • The teams played 27 of the tournament's 72 holes on Friday.

  • Senior Amelia Burger (Centerville) is second of 44 golfers with a 76-40--116.
  • Junior Marisa Alfes (Bellbrook) is fourth with a 79-39--118.
  • Freshman Mallory Meister (Milan/Edison) is sixth with an 83-40--123.
  • Freshman Taylor Blackburn (Liberty Township/Lakota West) is 15th with an 84-45--129.
  • Sixth-year senior Torrie Smith (Kokomo, Ind./Western) is 16th with an 87-43--130.

Notables

  • Thus far this season, Alfes leads the team with an 81.0 average for 17 rounds, with Burger right behind at 81.8 for 16 rounds.
  • Blackburn is third at 85.5 for 15 rounds.
  • The Championship is a 72-hole event with 27 holes on Friday and Saturday and 18 holes on the final day.
  • The top-14 finishers and tied receive All-OAC honors.
  • The team that wins the OAC Tournament gets an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships May 13-16 at the Kingsmill Resort & Spa in Williamsburg, Va.
