Women's Cross Country finishes seventh at NCAA III Great Lakes Regionals; Steinbrunner, Weaver qualify for NCAA Championships

ANDERSON, Ind. — No. 30-ranked Ohio Northern finished seventh of 33 teams at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Women's Cross Country Championships Saturday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (105-28) finished with 247 points.
Senior All-American Alison Steinbrunner won the individual title and broke her own school record in the process, winning the race in 21:00.
Senior Lydia Weaver also earned All-Region honors by finishing eighth out of 234 runners in 21:58.
Both Steinbrunner and Weaver will participate as individuals in next Saturday's NCAA III Championships at Terre Haute, Ind.
Freshman Aya Tomozawa finished 65th in 23:40, senior Sarah Turley was 90th in 24:12 and junior Brooke Larsen was 91st in 24:12 for ONU.
No. 22 Hope (Mich.) won the team title with 91 points, No. 10 Oberlin was second with 95 points and No. 5 Calvin (Mich.) was third with 103 points.
