GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Senior All-American Alison Steinbrunner broke her own school record and won the individual title, leading the No. 16-ranked Ohio Northern women's cross country team to a fifth place finish at the 22-team Calvin (Mich.) Knight Invitational Saturday morning.

The Polar Bears (19-4) finished with 145 points. No. 1-ranked Calvin (Mich.) won the team title with 34 points, No. 3 (NCAA Division II) Grand Valley State (Mich.) was second with 64 points and No. 27 Case Western Reserve was third with 121 points.

Steinbrunner finished first out of 313 runners in a school 5,000-meter record 17:42, breaking her own record of 17:50 by eight seconds.

Senior Lydia Weaver finished fifth in 18:07, moving her up to No. 2 on ONU's all-time career list.

Senior Casey Adamcik was 49th in 19:15, freshman Aya Tomozawa was 53rd in 19:21 and junior Brooke Larsen was 71st in 19:34 for Ohio Northern.

The Polar Bears return to action Sept. 22 at the Williams (Mass.) Classic.
