Volleyball wraps up OAC slate with 4-set loss at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS — The Ohio Northern volleyball team wrapped up the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of its schedule with a 26-24, 17-25, 25-18, 25-23 loss at John Carroll on Saturday afternoon.

- Senior Lauren James (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) had a season-high 14 kills and nine blocks to lead ONU.
- Freshman Summer Hoying (Fort Loramie) had 13 kills.
- Senior Sonia Dahlin (Minnetonka, Minn.) chipped in 11 kills.
- Senior Rachel Jennings (Novi, Mich.) had 17 digs.
- Senior Grace Conrad (Somerset/Sheridan) had 46 assists.
- John Carroll was led by Abby Bednar with 17 kills.
- The Polar Bears hit .175 for the match with 57 kills, while the Blue Streaks hit .174 with 56 kills in the match.

- Ohio Northern leads the all-time series against JCU by a 49-8 margin. ONU is now 20-4 on the road in the series.
- The Polar Bears finish fifth in the OAC regular season standings.

- She also has 1,186 career kills is 10th all-time in ONU history in that category.
- Sophie Windover is now 35-17 in her two seasons as head coach of the ONU volleyball team, a winning percentage of .673.
