ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team remained undefeated in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 2-0 victory at Wilmington on Wednesday night at Williams Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 8-3-2 overall are 4-0-0 in the OAC, while the Quakers fall to 5-7-1, 2-2-0.
Freshman Elizabeth Pierce (Liberty Township/Mount Notre Dame) and sophomore Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll) each scored for Ohio Northern.
Pierce got ONU on the board with 15:05 gone when she took a cross from senior Tara Morris (Monroe) and finished for her third goal of the season.
Roberts made it 2-0 with her team-best fifth goal of the season, scoring on a 35-yard blast off an assist from junior Lauren Naso (Grosse Ile, Mich.) with 13:30 gone in the second half.
Senior Kristy Catrine (Springboro) had one save in goal for her eighth shutout of the season and the 16th of her career.
Ohio Northern out-shot Wilmington 32-2 and enjoyed a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Saturday when they host John Carroll at Kerscher Stadium.
