Wednesday's Preview: Wednesday's contest will serve as the 2021 season opener for both teams ... Ohio Northern, under 18th-year head coach Mark Batman, has won six OAC regular season titles, finished league runners-up six more times and has been runners-up or champions in the past six OAC Tournaments, resulting with two titles ... The Polar Bears have also won four of the last five OAC regular season titles and are 41-2-0 in their last 43 regular season league contests ... Batman and his squad welcome back 20 letter winners and seven starters from the 2020 squad that went 8-0-1 in league play, did not allow a single regular season goal, tied for the regular season title and were runners-up in the OAC Tournament ... Senior Kristy Catrine, reigning OAC Goalkeeper of the Year, will be a dominant piece of the ONU defense ... Along with OAC Goaltender of the Year, Catrine earned 2nd Team CoSIDA Academic All-America, was a member of the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Team and All-OAC 1st Team for the first time in her career ... Sophomore Bri Straus was the other ONU All-OAC 1st Team honoree as a defender for the first time in her career ... Other key returners include senior Tara Morris, junior Hailey McGuire and sophomore Kylie Cabana, who each scored two goals in the spring ... Wittenberg's 2020 season was four exhibition matches in which the Tigers went 3-0-1 ... Katie Robinson is 23-23-9 entering her fifth season as a head coach ... Seniors Brooke Peters, Alex Steele and Emily Wile return as leading goal-scorers from the 2019 season in which the Tigers were 8-7-2 for a fifth-place finish in their conference.
