Women's Golf begins spring schedule with second place finish at Muskingum Spring Invitational

ZANESVILLE — The Ohio Northern women's golf team began the spring portion of its schedule on a chilly Monday afternoon with a second place finish at the Muskingum Spring Invitational at the Zanesville Country Club.
The Polar Bears (55-12 overall) finished with a 345 on the 5902-yard, par-72 course.
Otterbein won the team title with a 340, Muskingum was third with a 386, Capital was fourth with a 400 and Marietta was fifth with a 416.
Sophomore Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) and senior Karlee Staugler (Saint Henry) posted top-4 finishes to lead ONU in the 39-woman field.
Honigford carded an 83 to finish second and Staugler was fourth with an 86.
Sophomore Isabella Orofino (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) and freshman Amelia Burger (Centerville) tied for seventh with 88s and freshman Rhianna Firmstone (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) was 15th with a 95.
Rachel Hatley of Otterbein won Medalist honors with an 82.
The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday and Sunday at the Bluffton Classic.
