Women's Golf fifth of 13 teams after Day 1 of Heidelberg Fall Invitational

POWELL —The Ohio Northern women's golf team is fifth of 13 teams after the first day of the Heidelberg Fall Invitational on Saturday at Mohawk Country Club.

Freshman Lydia Cranmer (Farmington Hills, Mich./Ladywood) is tied for first place out of 79 golfers with an 8-over par 80 on the 5,933-yard course to lead the Polar Bears (4-1 overall). Her score was originally reported as an 82 on Saturday, but the scoring error was caught and her proper score of 80 was credited before the start of play on Sunday.

Junior Caitlin Silva (Hilliard/Bradley) is tied for 15th with an 89, junior Suzanne Short (Findlay) is tied for 28th with a 92 and sophomore Taylor Daniel (Columbia City, Ind.) is tied for 45th with a 97.

Saint Mary's (Ind.) leads the team standings with a 334, Indiana-Kokomo is second with a 351 and Grace (Ind.) is third with a 355.

Hunter Kehoe of Saint Mary's holds the individual lead by two shots with a first-round 80.

The Polar Bears will conclude the tournament with 18 holes Sunday, beginning at 9 am.
