Women's Golf finishes third of five teams at Capital Spring Invitational

PATASKALA — The Ohio Northern women's golf team finished third out of five teams at the Capital Spring Invitational Saturday-Sunday at the Cumberland Trails Golf Club.

The Polar Bears (23-25 overall) finished with a 330-339—669 on the par-72 course.

Junior Heather Comer (DeGraff/Riverside) led Ohio Northern with an seventh place finish out of 36 golfers with an 85-81—166.

Senior Hannah Whisler (Bristol, Ind./Elkhart Central) and sophomore Suzanne Short (Findlay) tied for 14th with 170s and sophomore Caitlin Silva (Hilliard/Bradley) fired a first round 76 and finished t19th with a 174.

Ohio Dominican won the team title with a 641, Otterbein was second with a 648, Capital was fourth with a 681 and Heidelberg was fifth with a 694.

ODU's Erin Smiddy won Medalist honors with a 74-73—147.

The Polar Bears will return to action Thursday-Friday at the Heidelberg Fall Invitational.
