Women's Golf finishes 4th at 11-team Polar Bear Classic

HARROD — Senior Ariana Tomasula (Rocky River/Lutheran West) carded a second round 85 to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a fourth place finish out of 11 teams at the annual Polar Bear Classic on Saturday at Colonial Golfers Club.
The Polar Bears (21-23 overall) were fifth after the first round with a 357 on Saturday and jumped one spot with a second round 352 on Sunday for a 36-hole total of 709.
Northwestern Ohio won the team title with a 333-331—664, Olivet (Mich.) was second with a 350-329—679, Otterbein was third with a 350-348—698 and Capital and Adrian (Mich.) tied for firth with 715s.
Tomasula finished eighth of 67 golfers with an 87-85—172 on the 5912-yard course.
Senior Heather Comer (DeGraff/Riverside) and sophomore Caitlin Silva (Hilliard/Bradley) tied for 12th with 177s and sophomore Suzanne Short (Findlay) tied for 29th with a 93-90—183.
Faithe Carter of UNOH won Medalist honors with an 81-78—159.
The Polar Bears will return to action April 15-16 at the OAC Falkl Preview at West Lafayette, Ohio.
