ONU Race Notes: The Ohio Northern men's cross country team — which is ranked inside the top-10 of the Great Lakes Region — will compete in its fourth meet of the season Saturday … The Polar Bears travel to Oberlin to race in the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble … The men are slated to run at 11:15 a.m. while the women will compete at 10:30 a.m. … The field includes 53 teams from across the country … The Polar Bears, who have won two of their first four meets this season, and are fresh off a 21st-place finish at the Louisville Classic Oct. 5 … In that race, junior Travis Sutter paced the squad, placing 87th overall with a career-best time of 25:54.9 … Sophomore Patrick Baker finished second on the team after logging a personal-best of 26:13.8, and junior Jordan Green took third on the squad, clocking in at 26:35.4 … Freshman Billy Driemeyer and junior Dylan McKean rounded out ONU's top-five with times of 26:50.5 and 26:57, respectively … Northern last competed in the Oberlin Rumble in 2015 where they took sixth in a field of 32.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 11th season as head coach of the men's cross-country team … He has coached four men's cross-country teams to Ohio Athletic Conference titles, including a string of three consecutive crowns from 2015-17 … Maus currently stands as the all-time winningest coach in Ohio Northern school history for both men's and women's cross-country.
