Men's Track and Field sets school record in 4x400 relay as squad wraps up regular season

The Ohio Northern men's track and field team wrapped up its regular season with a record-setting performance at the Augustana (Ill.) Midwest Twilight meet on Wednesday and at the Mount Union Final Qualifier on Wednesday and Thursday.

Top ONU Performers - Augustana
- The 4x400 relay team of senior Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa), junior Zach O'Neill (Holland/Maumee Valley Country Day), fifth-year senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and senior All-American Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph) set a school record by finishing sixth in 3:11.80.
- The 4x100 relay team of sophomore C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern), Dean, senior Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) and junior Dylan Dowell (Mount Vernon) were fourth in :40.84.
Top ONU Performers - Mount Union
- Senior Cooper Koch (Waynesville) had a pair of top-8 finishes. He was fifth in the hammer throw at 45.14 meters and was eighth in the discus at 42.41.
Notables
- The 4x400 relay team broke the previous record of 3:12.41 by Dean, Hunter Kesler, Myers and Schlatter.
- Dean is now 13th nationally in the 400 in 47:08.
- ONU's 4x100 relay team is ranked 17th nationally at :40.77.
- ONU's 4x400 relay team is ranked 19th nationally at 3:11.80.
- The top 22 individuals in each individual event and the top 16 relays at the end of the season qualify for the NCAA III Championships May 22-24 in Geneva, Ohio.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 602-167-3 in men's outdoor track and field for a winning percentage of .782.
