4x400 Relay wins, leads Men's Track and Field at non-scoring Ashland Open

ADA — Ohio Northern won the men's 4x400 meter relay to lead the men's outdoor track and field team at the non-scoring Ashland Open Friday and Saturday.

- The 4x400 relay team of senior All-American Jordan Dean Cleveland/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph), junior Zach O'Neill (Holland/Maumee Valley Country Day), fifth-year senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and senior Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa) won in 3:14.85.
- Senior Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) was second of 65 runners in the 1500 in 3:59.23.
- Freshman Luke Lazarich (Celina) was seventh in the 400 hurdles in :55.86.
- Myers was also sixth in the 800 in 1:56.33.
- Junior Connor Robbins (Marion/River Valley) was sixth in the javelin at 47.27 meters.
- Junior Hunter Mowery (Sidney/Houston) was sixth in the 5000 in 15:41.20.
- Sophomore Grant Butler (Marion/River Valley) was sixth in the long jump at 6.55 meters.
Notables
- The 4x400 relay team's 3:14.85 effort is the fourth-fastest in school history. The team is also ranked 14th nationally in the event.
- Lazarich now ranks 10th all-time in ONU history in the 400 hurdles at :55.86.
- Sophomore C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) is ranked 27th nationally in the 100 with a school-record :10.52.
- Dean is tied for 17th nationally in the 400 in :47.41.
- The 4x100 relay team is ranked seventh nationally in :40.77.
- The top 22 individuals in each event at the end of the season qualify for the NCAA III Championships May 22-24 in Geneva, Ohio.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 589-163-3 in men's outdoor track and field for a winning percentage of .782.
