Trey Myers wins 800 as Men's Track split squad competes at All-Ohio Championships, Duke Invitational

DELAWARE / DURHAM, N.C. — The men's outdoor track and field team set split squads to the All-Ohio Championships and the Duke Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The Basics
- Record: Ohio Northern (30-9-1 Overall).
- Venue: Selby Stadium - Delaware, Ohio / Morris Williams Stadium - Durham, N.C.
Meet Results
- Ohio Northern finished sixth of 14 teams with 62.5 points at the All-Ohio Championships.
- Baldwin Wallace won the meet with 172 points, Otterbein was second with 92.5 points and Ohio Wesleyan was third with 88 points.
- The meet consisted of 20 events, including eight field events, 10 running events and two relays.
- Seven Polar Bears competed in seven different events against Division I competition at the non-scoring Duke Invitational.
Top ONU Performers - All-Ohio
- Fifth-year senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) won the 800 in 1:55.66.
- Sophomore J.D. Dillman (Bethel) was third in the triple jump with a leap of 13.96 meters.
- Junior Jacob Clouse (Alveda/New Riegel) was third in the 5,000-meter run in 15:11.49.
- Junior Evan Gomez (Farmington, N.M.) was third in the discus with a toss of 43.75 meters.
- Senior Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) was fourth in the 110 hurdles in :15.51.
- Freshman Asu Pelima (Euclid/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph) was fourth in the 800 in 1:56.29.
- Senior Bo Little (Washington Court House/Miami Trace) was sixth in the 800 in 1:58.26.
- Junior Zach O'Neill (Holland/Maumee Valley Country Day) was sixth in the 400 in :49.97.
- Sophomore Grant Butler (Marion/River Valley) was sixth in the long jump at 6.68 meters.
- Sophomore Oliver Hendricks (Vandalia/Butler) was sixth in the 1500 in 4:00.80.
- Freshman Luke Lazarich (Celina) was sixth in the 110 hurdles in :15.70.
Top ONU Performers - Duke
- Sophomore C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) was 29th of 66 in the 100 in :10.82.
- Senior All-American Jordan Dean Cleveland/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph) was 29th of 85 in the 200 in :21.73.
- Dean was also eighth of 39 in the 400 in :47.41.
- The pair then combined with junior Brett Greer (Mentor) and freshman Dylan Dowell (Mount Vernon) to place seventh in the 4x100 relay in :41.21.
- Senior Ryan Massie (Beavercreek) was 51st of 70 in 15:02.01 in the 5,000.
- Junior Connor Robbins (Marion/River Valley) was 30th of 42 in the shot put at 14.03 meters.
- He also finished 19th of 25 in the javelin at 48.15 meters.
Notables
- Dillman's 45' 9.75" mark in the triple jump moved him into a third place tie all-time in the history of the event at ONU. He is also currently ranked No. 28 nationally in the event.
- Dean's :47.41 time in the 400 ranks him tied for 10th nationally.
- Boothby is ranked tied for 18th nationally in the 100 with a school-record :10.52.
- Senior Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) is ranked 22nd nationally in the 5000 at 14:38.48.
- ONU's 4x100 relay team is ranked third nationally at :40.77.
- ONU's 4x400 relay team is ranked 14th nationally at 3:15.55.
- The top 22 individuals in each event at the end of the season qualify for the NCAA III Championships May 22-24 in Geneva, Ohio.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 587-163-3 in men's outdoor track and field for a winning percentage of .783.
