Men's Track and Field starts Outdoor season with three non-scoring meets scattered over the eastern half of the U.S.
The Ohio Northern men's track and field team opened the outdoor portion of its schedule Friday and Saturday at three non-scoring meets scattered over the eastern half of the United States.
On Friday, four Polar Bears competed at the Washington (Mo.) Distance Carnival, while four sprinters competed at the Raleigh (N.C.) Relays on Friday and Saturday.
On Saturday, the remainder of the squad competed at the Tiffleberg Open, which had the running and jumping events at Heidelberg and the throwing events at Tiffin.

- Junior Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) was 28th of 278 runners in the 5000.
- Senior Braden Schaser (Fostoria/Lakota) was 22nd of 32 in the 3000 steeplechase in 9:29.37.
- Junior Ryan Massie (Beavercreek) was 20th of 21 in the 1500 in 4:03.20.
- Senior Kyle Roth (Rockford/Parkway) was 99th of 141 in the 10k in 32:49.57.
Top ONU Performers - Raleigh Relays
- Junior Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa St Angela) was 11th of 86 in the 400 in :48.04.
- Junior Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) was 44th of 54 in the 110 hurdles in :15.17.
- Fifth-year senior Hunter Kesler (Paulding) was 57th of 78 in the 200 in :22.44.
- The men's 4x400 relay team of Kesler, junior Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa), senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and Dean finished eighth of 20 teams in 3:13.76.
Top ONU Performers - Tiffleberg Open
- Senior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) won the shot put with a toss of 17.21 meters.
- Senior Jared Swartz (Columbia Station/Columbia) and junior Keefer McClure (Ottawa Hills) finished 2-3 in the 5k in 15:12.75 and 15:29.40, respectively.
- Freshman Grant Butler (Marion/River Valley) tied for fourth in the high jump by clearing 1.85 meters.
- Freshman C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) was fifth in the 100 in :10.86.
- Freshman Easton Silva (Fremont/Ross) was fifth in the pole vault by clearing 4.10 meters.
Notables
- Schaser's 3000 steeplechase time 9:29.37 was a PR and moves him into seventh place all-time in ONU history.
- The 4x400 relay team defeated 11 NCAA Division I teams in the event and finished just .90 of a second off the school record.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 15th year at Ohio Northern and is 658-157 for men's indoor track and field with a winning percentage of .808.
