Digby, Dean break own school records, leads Men's Indoor Track and Field at Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet

ALLENDALE, Mich. — Senior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) and junior Jordan Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) each broke his own school record in to lead the Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team at the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet on Friday night.

- The meet was non-scoring and consisted of athletes from more than 75 NCAA Division I, II and III teams from as far away as California.
Top ONU Performers
- Digby was fifth in the shot put with a school-record mark of 17.27 meters. He also placed 22nd of 31 in the weight throw with a mark of 15.25 meters.
- Junior Jordan Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) was 14th of 25 in the 400 in :48.81.
- Senior Braden Schaser (Fostoria/Lakota) won his heat of the 5,000, finishing in 15:25.29 in the 26-man race.
- Senior Jared Swartz (Columbia Station/Columbia) was 23rd of 31 in his heat of the 5k in 15:32.79.
- In the 3k, junior Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) was 11th of 23 in 8:28.66 and senior Aaron Guzman (Lebanon) was 23rd in 8:56.93.
- Senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) was 16th of 31 in the 800 in 1:53.48.
- Junior Ryan Massie (Beavercreek) was 28th of 43 in the mile run in 4:18.60.
Notables
- Digby, a two-time Ohio Athletic Conference champion in the indoor shot put and an All-American in the event last season, entered Friday holding the school-record mark of 17.22 meters.
- Digby ranks fifth nationally in the event.
- Dean broke his own school record in the 400 by .06 of a second. He now ranks 30th nationally in the event.
- Schaser broke his career-low mark in the 5k by more than 14 seconds.
