Men's Tennis wraps up non-conference schedule with 5-2 setback to Wabash (Ind.)

LIMA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team wrapped up the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 5-2 loss to Wabash (Ind.) indoors on Friday afternoon.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (9-8 Overall); Wabash (14-8 Overall).

Individual Highlights
- ONU grabbed two of the three the doubles courts to win the doubles point, but the Little Giants won five of the six singles courts to record the victory.
- Sophomore Kosuke Asada (Findlay) won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and combined with sophomore Kessler Hackenberger (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) to win 6-4 at No. 3 doubles.
- Junior T.J. Schultz (Grand Blanc, Mich.) and freshman Noah Boyce (Oakwood) won 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Notables
- The Polar Bears have now won or shared 13 OAC Regular Season titles since the league began its current round-robin regular season schedule format to select the regular season title in 2000.
- ONU leads the series between the two schools by a 1-0 margin.
- The NCAA had adopted a 7-point team scoring system for Division III, where the three doubles contests only count for one team point as is used in NCAA Divisions I and II.
- Sophomore Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's) leads the team with a 18-7 singles record and Boyce is right behind at 17-9.
- Boyce has a team-high 13 doubles wins.
- Wood and Boyce was have team-best 30-21 overall records.
- Senior Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) is 118-84 overall in his career, which includes a 54-46 singles mark and a 63-38 doubles record.
- His 118 victories tie him for No. 9 all-time in ONU history and his 63 doubles wins ranks 10th all-time at ONU.
- Senior Sam Sran (Punjab, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) is 51-41 in singles, 28-37 in doubles and is 79-78 overall.
- Third-year head coach Sean Swisher is 41-22 at the helm of the ONU men's tennis team, a winning percentage of .651.
