Bennett Christy leads Men's Golf to eighth place finish at Wooster Nye Intercollegiate

WOOSTER — Junior Bennett Christy (Plymouth, Ind.) carded a 157 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to an eighth place finish at the Wooster Nye Intercollegiate Sunday and Monday.

- Otterbein won the team title with a 611, Wooster was second with a 621 and Marietta was third with a 623.

- Freshman Gordon Kopmeyer (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./St. Mary's) tied for 36th with an 80-83—163.

- Thus far this season, Ian Briars leads the Polar Bears in scoring with a 76.3 average for 20 rounds.
- Andrew Briars is second at 77.76 for 17 rounds, junior Joey DeSimone (Monroe Falls/Stow-Monroe Falls) is third at 77.83 for 18 rounds and Christy is fourth at 77.84 for 19 rounds.
- This was the fifth of six tournaments for Ohio Northern this spring prior to the OAC Championships May 2-4.
