Deichert leads Men's Golf through 54 holes at 2014 OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Sophomore Rick Deichert leads the Ohio Northern men's golf team through 54 holes of the 72-hole Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships Saturday at River Greens Golf Course.
The Polar Bears are sixth out of eight teams with Mount Union after the third round with a 314-316-309—939.
Deichert is tied for 11th out of 40 golfers with a 78-79-76—233.
The teams played 27 holes on Friday and 27 more on Saturday and will conclude the tournament with 18 holes on Sunday.
Freshman Tyler Davis is tied for 13th with a 78-77-79—234, sophomore Brandon Lambert is tied for 18th with a 77-81-78—236, freshman Blaine Ricketts is tied for 20th with an 82-79-76—237 and junior Ted Loewendick is 36th with an 81-81-88—250 for ONU.
The top 10 players and ties at the end of the tournament on Sunday receive All-OAC accolades.
Deichert earned All-OAC honors with a fifth place finish a year ago.
Baldwin Wallace leads the team standings with a 303-305-306—914, Otterbein is second with a 307-304-309—920 and Capital is third with a 309-312-311—932.
The teams will play 27 more holes on Saturday and will wrap up the tournament with 18 holes on Sunday.
