Men's Basketball falls at Otterbein 65-53 despite 15 from Miller

WESTERVILLE — Sophomore Will Miller (Ottoville) scored 15 points, but the Ohio Northern men's basketball team had a cold-shooting night dropped a 65-53 decision at Otterbein on Wednesday.

The Game

• Sophomore Mason Studer (Galion/Colonel Crawford) added 10 points for the Polar Bears.
• Jack Clement led the Cardinals with a game-high 19 points.
• Otterbein used a 16-3 run early in the second half to turn a 29-28 lead into a 45-31 advantage with 10:26 left in the game.
• Freshman Noah Langford (Perrysburg/Toledo Central Catholic) and Miller would each score to get ONU within 51-41, but OU would push the lead to 60-43 with 3:46 remaining.
• Northern led 6-2 early in the defensive battle.
• Ohio Northern made 21-of-65 field goal attempts for 32.3% and was 5-of-28 from 3-point range for 17.9%.
• OU was 24-of-48 shooting for 50% and was 7-of-18 on 3-pointers for 38.9%.
• ONU was 6-of-13 from the foul line for 46.2%, and OU was 10-of-15 from the foul line for 66.7%.
• Otterbein out-rebounded Ohio Northern by a slim 39-38 margin.
