Slow start dooms men's basketball in 83-62 loss to Baldwin Wallace

BEREA — Senior Isaiah Roux scored a team-high 11 points to lead the Ohio Northern men's basketball team in 83-62 loss on Saturday at Ursprung Gymnasium.
The Polar Bears fall to 7-8 overall and 2-6 in the Ohio Atheltic Conference, while Baldwin Wallace improves to 11-3, 5-2.
ONU came out firing in the second half, trailing 41-30 they found three 3-pointers from Roux, sophomores Joey Hurless and Konnor Baker to cut the Yellow Jackets' lead to 43-39 with just over 18 minutes to play.
Baldwin Wallace however, continued their hot shooting and was able to seal the victory 83-62.
The Yellow Jackets finished the contest shooting 56.2% from the field and 84% from the free throw line.
Ohio Northern was just 40.4% from the field and 61.5% from the free throw line.
Baker added nine points and a team-high two assists, while senior Lucas Pennington netted seven points and grabbed three boards.
Baldwin Wallace opened the contest with a 7-0 run before surrending a basket to the Polar Bears sophomore Alex Radkiewicz two minutes into the contest.
The Polar Bears were able to force 12 turnovers and pick up 13 points off the Yellow Jackets misques.
ONU is next in action Wednesday as they return to the ONU Sports Center to host Heidelberg.
