Men's Basketball wins MSOE All-Engineers Classic with 70-58 victory

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Sophomore Konnor Baker came off the bench to score 18 points and lead the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to a 70-58 victory over the Miwaukee (Wis.) School of Engineering in the title game of the MSOE Classic on Sunday.
The Polar Bears (2-0) have now opened their season by winning a tournament title for the fourth consecutive year, while the Engineers fall to 1-1.
Sophomore Devon Allen added 13 points and senior Isaiah Roux scored nine points, grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and dished out a team-high five assists assists for ONU.
Roux was named the Tournament MVP and Baker was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Austin Stueck led MSOE with a game-high 25 points.
Northern led throughout the contest and held nine-point leads on many occasions, but MSOE stayed within shouting distance until a 14-5 run put ONU up 62-48 with 3:29 left in the game.
ONU made 24-of-54 field goal attempts for 44.4 percent, while MSOE made 21-of-45 attempts for 46.7 percent.
The Polar Bears will open the home portion of their schedule on Saturday with a 3 pm contest against Adrian (Mich.) at the ONU Sports Center.
