Kuhlman's career day leads Men's Basketball to 93-78 victory at Muskingum

NEW CONCORD--Senior Taylor Kuhlman scored a career high 27 points as the Ohio Northern men's basketball team picked up a road victory at Muskingum Saturday afternoon at Performance Court.
With the win, the Polar Bears now stand at 6-4 overall and 2-1 in the OAC, while the Muskies fall to 0-8, 0-3.
Kulhman went 8-of-11 from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line. He also pulled down eight rebounds.
Sophomore Branden Rushton scored 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting.
Michael Klamo scored 18 points off the bench to lead Muskingum.
Northern used an early 13-2 run to open up a 27-14 lead midway through the first half.
A three pointer from Kuhlman at the 3:02 mark in the first half gave ONU a 48-31 lead.
But the Muskies would finish the half on a 10-3 run and the Polar Bears went into the break with a 51-41 lead.
The Muskies would continue to chip away at the ONU lead, and cut the deficit to 60-55 with 13:57 left to play.
ONU would respond right back with an 8-1 run on two Kuhlman free throws to push their lead back out to 68-56.
The Muskies again would make a push and cut the Polar Bear lead to 70-64 with 8:35 remaining.
Northern responded though, using a 16-3 run to put the game away and open up a 86-67 lead with just over four minutes to go.
Sophomore Isaiah Roux and Kuhlman led Northern with six points during the run, while Rushton and sophomore Lucas Pennington each added a basket.
The Polar Bears shot 33-of-61 (54.1 percent) from the field, while Muskingum was 23-of-48 (47.9 percent).
Both teams were solid at the line, with ONU going 19-of-22 (86.4 percent) and the Muskies going 27-of-33 (81.8 percent).
The Polar Bears took advantage of 16 Muskingum turnovers and scored 27 points off of them.
Northern also outscored Muskingum 13-8 in second half points.
Ohio Northern will be in action again on Wednesday when they return home to face Otterbein at 7:30 pm.
