BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Junior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) earned his second career All-America honor on Saturday afternoon at the Birmingham Crossplex. Digby finished in fourth place with a toss of 16.98 meters, the second furthest throw of his career.
On his performance: "All around it was a really good day. I am happy with the work put in and the results coming out. I wanted more out of today but I am proud of what I accomplished. A huge thank you goes to Coach Jason Fisher for everything he has done for me and our program, without him I would not be where I am today. I would also like to thank Chad McClory and Matt Furko for helping me get to the level I am at. Now it is on to outdoors with bigger goals in mind and a lot more work to be done! Go bears!"
Keegan's first throw of the day measured 16.24 meters, which he immediately bettered to 16.51 meters on his second throw to make it to the finals. After his first two throws in finals were fouled, he was able to recover with his toss of 16.98 meters and secure his fourth-place finish.
Digby's other All-America honor came at last year's outdoor championships where he placed seventh with a put of 16.38 meters.
Throws coach Jason Fisher said "I'm proud of how he performed. He came in seeded fourth and finished there as well. His last throw was his 2nd best throw ever, which is a great way to end the indoor season."
Head coach Jason Maus added "I'm really proud of Keegan and Coach Fisher. They both do a great job for our program. This is a great accomplishment for them."
