Men's Golf rallies for fifth place finish at OAC Fall Invitational

COLUMBIA STATION — The Ohio Northern men's golf team posted a season-low round of 300 to rally for a fifth place finish at the 2013 Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the Columbia Station Country Club.
The Polar Bears (3-9 overall) finished fifth out of eight teams with a 308-300—608.
ONU was sixth after the first 18 holes on Saturday and its 300 on Sunday was the third-lowest round of the day.
Sophomore Brandon Lambert led the Polar Bears, carding a 75-73—148 to finish tied for seventh out of 56 golfers on the par-71, 6404-yard course.
Playing as an individual, freshman Tyler Davis finished fifth overall with a 76-70—146.
Sophomore Rick Deichert tied for 14th with a 76-74—150, junior Andrew Quintrell and freshman Blaine Ricketts tied for 32nd with 157s.
Otterbein won the team title with a 286-292—578, Mount Union was second with a 293-301—594 and John Carroll was third with a 306-296—602.
Otterbein's Matt Mosca won Medalist honors with an even par 73-69—142.
The Polar Bears will return to action Sept. 28-29 at the Kenyon Invitational.
