Baseball opens OAC Tournament with 11-3 loss to Baldwin Wallace

BEREA — The Ohio Northern baseball team opened play in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament with an 11-3 loss at Baldwin Wallace on Thursday.

- Baldwin Wallace scored four times in the bottom of the second to grab an early 5-0 lead.

- Sells, junior Joey Kennedy (Sterling Heights, Mich./Foley Catholic), and Lapp lead the team in hitting through 40 games with averages of .358, .351 and .329, respectively.
- Stechschulte leads the team with 50 hits.
- Sophomore Chase Armstrong (Louisville, Ky./Trinity) leads the squad with 15 doubles, seven home runs, 44 RBI and a .566 slugging percentage. His 44 RBI is the fifth-most at ONU in a single-season.
- Senior Logan Stevens (Plain City/Jonathan Alder) is tied for 8th all-time at ONU with 19 career home runs and also has 144 base hits and 100 RBI in 143 career games.
- Ohio Northern is now 53-59 all-time against Baldwin Wallace, including a 30-32 mark in Berea and a 3-4 mark in the OAC Tournament.
